Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” almost 27 years after its release, is still the best-selling album of all time.
More than 100 million copies of the album have been sold worldwide, according to some sources.
One of those millions of copies is actually in my own room.
It’s a cassette tape, which is kept in a box along with scores of VHS tapes and other cassette tapes.
The cover has Japanese characters on it. It also mentions the price: 2,500 yen. Based on today’s exchange rate, that tape was sold for about US$26.
My sister used to own that tape. I’m saying “used to” because it’s been in my room for a long time.
The album is now mine. By default.
