Champagne tasting in Reims, France

If it’s not made in the Champagne region in France, then it’s not Champagne; it’s just effervescent white wine, said our tour guide from G.H. Mumm in Reims.

That’s because the grapes used to make champagne can only be grown in the climate and soil found in the region. Change those things and you change the quality of the fruit.
